of Sunday School!
Sunday School Kick-Off
9:45—10:45 am
September 12, 2010
3 years old through 5th grade
Children are invited to Sunday School where
they’ll learn more about God’s love and how to share it with others. All ages gather in Carlson Hall for singing, offering and prayer. Following the large group time, children attend age-specific classes that are fun, relational and Bible-based.
Registration forms are available at the Sunday School table in Carlson Hall or can be downloaded from the website. Just click on the registration link on the right side of this page.
NOTE: For the sake of consistency, children will remain in the same level all year;
there will be no “graduating” mid-year. Every fall, we will look at the child’s age (by September 1)
to determine which class best serves the child.
Children in Worship
The first Sunday of each month is Family Worship Sunday. Children can worship with their families in any of our four worship services. Children are valued and nurtured here and we are committed to helping them learn to worship. They may not always understand all that is being said or done, but they can understand that this is a place where they belong and are loved. Children are encouraged to participate fully in worship, including receiving communion.
Nursery care is available for children 3 years old and younger, if desired.
Preschool and kindergarten students may choose to attend God’s Children Sing, a music and movement program (see below).
God’s Children Sing
1st Sunday of each month (Oct—May)
Room 105
9:45 am Preschool—Kindergarten
11 am Parent/Child Class (birth—5 year)
A child-centered celebration of God’s presence, this sacred music and movement program addresses the faith development, as well as the music and general development of young children.
Basic music concepts such as tuneful singing and a sense of steady beat are addressed through activities that foster family involvement and an appreciation of the natural world surrounding us. Through song, stories, playing instruments, movement activities, and moments of worship in each lesson, children grow in their awareness of God’s love for them and for all creation.
